When the #McKinneyFire devastated more than 55,000 acres of land in Siskiyou County, #California, The Salvation Army responded by deploying the Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team. Nearly 2,000 residents had to evacuate their homes due to the #wildfire, so the EDS team supported evacuees and others affected by the disaster at the temporary shelter located at Weed Community Center. There, more than 225 meals were served daily. When #disaster strikes, The Salvation Army is first on the ground to help, and the last to leave. So when the McKinney Fire spread across Northern California, The #SalvationArmy was ready to serve and committed to providing food and emotional and spiritual care to wildfire survivors and #firstresponders.
