2012: I was *supposed* to walk across the stage almost 10 years ago to the day. But a dream deferred is not a dream denied. My last day of freshman year, 2009, my mother passed away from heart disease. That derailed life as I knew it. I tried to keep going to school, but it was too much. After trying for years, I eventually took a break. But 2022? I have walked across this stage and received my BS Chemistry degree from the University of the District of Columbia. With HONORS. I have also been building @genehouseco from the ground up and I’m so proud of what I know will change healthcare for my people. Those who know me know it’s been tough. But I’ve pushed through, even in the midst of a global pandemic. I may be a chemist by training but my purpose lies in genetic health for my people. Black people. All around The Diaspora. 2022 is my year. The beginning of life for me. I thank everyone who supported me through the years. And I’m excited to keep y’all with me as we blow GeneHouse up and make it a worldwide name. Momma, I did it. Let life begin.
