Replying to @Kara whimsy soul Would you put cheese in an apple pie?? 🥧🫣 We got like,8 pounds of apples from apple picking in Sonoma so of course I had to bake a pie! But, then I remembered brown cheese is a thing (had it for the first time last year on my Norway trip and fell in love) and I had a feeling it would pair so perfectly with apple pie filling... And I was right! This pie is carmely, tangy and delisous. We're already taking bets on how long it'll last in our apartment (my guess is 2.5 days lol) Here's the recipe: 🥧 pre-made pie crusts 🍎 5-6 apples, peeled and sliced 🧈 cook in a dutch oven like Le Cruset with butter, 1/2 cup water, 3TB cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg, 2 TB brown sugar, 1 TB cornstarch, 1TB vanilla (feel free to add other seasonal spices as you see fit!) 🍎 Add your apples and cook on low heat until soft 🥧 Add filling to crust 🧀 Top with a thin layer of brown cheese 🥧 Add your top layer 🔥cook for ~45 mins or until golden brown #applepie #browncheese #cooking #recipe #autumn
