🏠 OurCalling, which has historically been a provider of services only, is in the fundraising stage for the largest capital investment of housing for people experiencing homelessness North Texas has ever seen. The $50 million project, once complete, will add 500 homes for people without them. A project years in the making, OurCommunity, as it’s called, will create not just homes, CEO Wayne Walker argues it will be a tiny-home village with wraparound services unlike just about any other permanent housing solution anywhere in the U.S. Walker and his team spent years researching over 40 different tiny-home communities nationwide. They’ve yet to find any with the level of support services OurCommunity intends to provide.
