Because he was in town to promote the new biopic #WEIRDthealyankovicstory at #tiff22 (for which he landed the lead role of @alfredyankovic, reenacting Al’s origin story and unconventional rise to fame ) #DanielRadcliffe and I were thankfully able to spend more time together than the last time he was briefly at the @deadline studio in 2019 .Interacting with Daniel , it’s clear his parents got it right in raising this guy ... he’s extremely sweet, modest , warm and gregarious on set without a strand of ego or privilege on display ... an impressive thing to accomplish having been #theboywholived aka “the most famous boy on the planet “ for over s decade in his formative years . And witnessing how he has thrown himself at a variety of unexpected and diverse roles since he left the #HarryPotter franchise as a way to challenge himself artistically and prove to the world he will not let that character define his entire career is inspiring .It’s now very clear he is much more than that iconic ( and life burdening ) role allowed him to showcase. I can’t wait to see him as #WierdAl alongside #evanrachelwood when it gets released in theaters this November .
