RE-ANIMATED is next showing at @juliastoschekcollection, opening June 5, curated by @hansulrichobrist . The work is a song for memories of what we lost. A key moment is when the last recording of the Kauai'O'o bird is turned to liquid shapes, visualized as a ghost in our digital archives. Accessible in the virtual, but lost forever. The work will be featured in WORLDBUILDING: Gaming and Art in the Digital Age, an upcoming exhibition at the @juliastoschekcollection in Düsseldorf from 5th June 2022 – 10th December 2023. Incredible excited for this exhibition, as several artists I admire are in it. Many artists today have video games as key inspiration, and if your into cinematics but haven't played one, your missing out on interactive, visual and sound art by a margin. It's going to be really fun and a landmark show. “WORLDBUILDING: Gaming and Art in the Digital Age” examines the relationship between gaming and time-based media art with a journey through various ways in which artists have interacted with video games and made them into an art form. ***Btw.
