Loopfur Legwarmers pattern GO! Made these in three days on my first visit to the Faroe Islands ever. Inspired by the breathtaking Faroese colors and nature. I used all sorts of green yarns, you can use whatever you like! If you have some au natural sheep wool throw that in too. Just make sure the yarns sort of match the needle size. Lol. Mix and match and change and cut and follow your heart and explore. Knit with two or three og four yarns 2gether. Change when you feel like It. Push the boundaries and just tie knots. Or not, I left some threads hanging. Born to be wild. Needle size: 8 mm for loopfur knit, 6 mm for folded double edge (folded hem) . Cast on around 30 st on a 8 mm needle, maybe it’s 28, 32, 34! Knit loop stitch on every other st, Google how to or use the tutorial in my book. It’s not hard. Knit back and forth and purl back. Decrease 2 st every 3-4 cm, 1 st in each side (purl side is easiest). In total 8 st (4 decreases). Around 22 st left on needle. Knit till work is the length you want, maybe 30 cm, 45, 50?! The longer legs the longer you knit. End with a purl row. Ok, now it’s time for double folded edge. Change to needle size 6 mm and stockinette (knit front and purl back) knit around 6-8 rows - honestly I can’t remember how many. Use your eyes. What looks good. End with a purl row on the back. Next row: do a purl row on front for a “natural break” and continue with 6-8 rows stockinette again. Fold down and pick up stitches on purl side from the first row you knitted on another size 6 mm. Knit st from both needles together and cast of at the same time. Maybe Google double folded edge (folded hem) or look at #theombretshirt from my book. Connect the sides of your knit and crochet 2gether using slip stitch technique from the front. Put a string, ribbon or whatever through your folded hem and make another leg warmer the same way.
