Four months IN vs OUT ... ➡️ 🤰🏼👶🏼 A journey into the unknown! These first four months with Orlando have flown by. On one hand, I can’t believe he’s already four months old, but on the other, I’ve done so much since he was born.. Is he really ONLY four months?! Today was a special one with Orlando, just at home chilling together ❤️ (= trying to make him smile and chuckle all day!) I’ve had some supportive msgs from women (& men) about going back to work with a young baby (thank you!), and also some questions. So here are a few thoughts: Little know fact... My first job was as an equity finance trader at a Swiss Investment bank..... (!) . Which had great benefits, so I always assumed I’d get a year off if I had a baby and anything less would be a struggle. When I was expecting Arthur, a friend told me she did her first trip when her baby was three months old, I thought she was mad! Why would you leave your precious baby, how would you cope, could you still breastfeed, would your brain still function at work?! (yes it does btw!) But it’s amazing how quickly your perceptions change. Now I find it quite odd that some people get so long off. What on earth would you do with all that time?! Because it turns out, that going back to work with a young baby is FINE! It’s totally DOABLE! Of course it’s juggle, but isn’t everything in life? It’s not perfect, I mess up (book childcare on the wrong day 🙈) and yes there are occasional arguments at home because we are both tired.
