It takes faith to ask God to take hard things away, but maybe even greater faith to just ask God to help you trust Him and His plan, right?
I’ve prayed to have God take away things that I thought He should easily be able to take away: my husband’s addiction our first 7 years together, my postpartum depression, my husband’s grief after losing 2 brothers, but in His wisdom He allowed me to learn instead. He allowed me to gain the strength, compassion, faith and understanding that I could not have gained any other way.
Last year and this year through 2 miscarriages, any time I thought about praying for God to just make everything work out and take that trial away, I got a gentle nudge from the Spirit instead to trust in God and let Him be in charge.
And with this current situation, a complete placenta previa that has me on bed rest (possibly for 5+ months), I’ve had that same prompting - trust in God. Don’t just ask Him to make it easy, and make it go away. Trust that He’s got this. Trust that He has a plan.
I’ve tried facing challenges both ways - asking God to take it away, and asking God for greater faith and trust in Him - and I promise the second one is so much better. It will provide the peace you need, and the lessons are learned much quicker and in greater depth and abundance too. ❤️❤️
