UPDATE 5PM Saturday: We're all picked out for the weekend! There are no RIPE peaches, blueberries or apples remaining in the orchard or Farmstand. Fear not, we expect to have plenty of new varieties of ripe 🍑+🍎 starting Thurs! UPDATE 8AM Sunday: PYO fruit is closed today, 8/28. However, Farmstand is open for🌻picking 'til 12pm and Taproom is open 12-7pm🍷 with @reconnectfoods serving lunch 🌮 12-5pm! 🍏 This weekend we kick off apple season off with Ginger Gold! This crisp and sweet apple was discovered growing near a Golden Delicious orchard in Virginia in the 1960s. We should consistently have apples available for Pick-Your-Own from now until the end of October, but we recommend consulting our Fruit Schedule (on our website) if there is a particular variety you don't want to miss (i.e. Honey Crisp, Mutsu, Pink Lady®). Next in the apple lineup is Gala! 🌻 This may be the last weekend for the sunflower harvest. The field along the orchard hill is mostly spent, but there are plenty of sunflowers available in the (new) field just west of the cidery parking. 🫐 Elliot blueberries are still going strong! While there are plenty on the bushes right now, typically we close the patch once we get into September. For our blueberry enthusiasts, this weekend might be one of the last. 🍑 We're sorry to report there will be NO peaches available for PYO this weekend. However, there will be some Glowingstar (a medium sized, yellow, freestone peach) and PF 24-007 (a larger sized, yellow, freestone peach) available pre-picked in the farm stand, while supplies last. These varieties are ripening inconsistently (best for spot picking). Next week, we expect there will be Messina (a large sized, yellow flesh with red blush) and Cresthaven (a large sized, yellow flesh with tomato-red blush skin) freestone peach varieties available for PYO. It's another full weekend at the Taproom! Thursday is Misto Burger Night 4-8pm with live music by the Brazilian Duo 6-8pm. Hare's Hollow serves wood-fire pizza on Fridays 4-8pm. Empanada Mama returns for lunch on Saturday, 12-5pm. We're looking forward to Mexican-Asian inspired farm-to-table fare by Reconnect Foods on Sunday, 12-5pm.
