When I was about 16 I saw a one woman show by @nilajasun1 ... I was floored. I couldn’t believe all that came out of one little woman 🫠 That night I went home and prayed that one day I could do something like that. “God please please please let me be able to do a one woman show as great as that” @subvertedsolo As my thesis to graduate college with honors I chose to write a one woman show about the “the destruction of black identity in America” For all these years I’ve been writing different theaters, taking meetings and trying to find the perfect place for @subvertedsolo . I didn’t want to just do it with anyone ....I wanted the best because that’s what our stories deserve... And then the best saw it and said “consider it done” that was @iamjamiefoxx while we filmed project power. Things take time but I’m blessed and God’s time is always the best.
