My appreciation post for one of my all time favourite movies and my most favourite comedy of all time… Dr Strangelove: Or How I Learnt To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb.😆 This film is a satire that takes place during the Cold War where the world is put on the verge from a nuclear catastrophe. It does satirise the conflict between the Soviet Union and the Americans as everyone fears of a nuclear attack. This American General who is a commander of the Air Force base unwillingly sends these planes to nuke Russia, and you have all these politicians in this one huge room trying to stop the nuclear attack. Now, this film has very many funny moments being a comedy… Being a DARK comedy, so it’s more of a serious kind of funny movie. You have the incredible Peter Sellers in this film who plays 3 characters.. The RAF Officer, The President Of The United States and well…😏 The mad genius himself who’s a former Nazi in the film, Dr Strangelove. So with Peter Sellers playing all those characters, you can see how this is going to go😆 The film definitely showcases how much of a genius Sellers really was and heck this movie actually introduced me to the actor in general. Sellers being the best thing about this movie, but this is also a Stanley Kubrick classic so of cause your going to get stunning visuals, imagery and cinematography ect. The pacing of the film, the performances by everyone and the direction were outstanding, the dialogue and the jokes were even great as well. Oh and that ending😆😆😆 Funniest ending to any movie I’ve ever seen, and it was a few scenes during the climax actually. I’m sure a lot of you who have seen the movie would have to choose that part of the film as your favourite. I mean the entire thing was fantastic and hilarious, but that was some kind of climax😆 So that was my review and my appreciation post on Dr Strangelove, I thought I’d post it on here specifically. I’ve seen this over a few times and from there I will continue to watch it forever. For those who haven’t seen it, please watch it.
