Sandy Roberton Very sad to hear the news that my magnificent manager for 30 years, passed away. A record producer in his own right, One of the hardest working people I’ve ever know, always with his finger on the pulse when it came to knowing which cool new artists might make it next. I met him back in UK 1981 while working with Kate Bush. He then managed Singer: John Martyn who I engineering an album for the next year. We remained friends and by the time I moved to Australia with my family, He had moved to LA and built up the worlds largest and most prominent Record Producer Management Company called WORLDS END. He started to represent me and continued for the next 30 years!!! I’ll truely miss his excited face while explaining a new band he’d just seen, or some crazy gossip he’d heard in the corridors of the mischevious music buisness. Over the years He represented the best: Steve Lillywhite, Hugh Padgham, Glyn Johns, Steve Lipson, Tim Palmer, the list goes on and on. This certainly marks the end of an era for many of us who’ve know him. Ultimately a huge music fan who passionately helped many of us record producers navigate the music industry sharks in order to make the best records we could.... 1000’s of them ! Rest In Peace Sandy... Thank You. All that Music will live on.
