“take it slow” 🤎😌
As someone with anxiety and a tendencies to give in to workaholic tendencies, this is a a reminder I need daily
With world mental health day being a couple of days ago, it feels fitting to reflect on my journey with anxiety, mental health and slow living as a result of both
I used to be the girl who couldn’t slow down because is so desperately tied my worth too my productivity - whether in the classroom, at work or in the gym
MORE was always better in my opinion
But after dedicating years to working on my mental health and sitting with myself in hard moments, I’ve realized life isn’t meant to be sprinted through
My worth is steadfast whether I work for 12 hours a day or honor my body and rest, and so is yours ok? 🌞
Take it slow, be present, root down in gratitude, love yourself fully, hug your people, take naps, aimlessly wander the streets of a new city, pause.
There’s always more that could be done, but maybe living right here right now, slowly, matters more xo
