There are some who don’t say it but believe mothers should not continue to work. There are some who don’t say it but believe dads should not pick-up their kids from nursery; should not parent. There are some who don’t say it but quietly spread doubts about a pregnant employee’s capabilities while she’s at her 20-week scan. There are some who seem genuinely confused when faced with the question: “why are there so few women at the top?”, while quietly refusing a flexible working request here or making a mother redundant on maternity leave there. There are some who are contributing to the 54,000 pregnant women every year who lose their jobs for simply procreating.
