KATE BUSH - The Dreaming single was release this week 4 decades ago ... at the time of recording I haden’t been to Australia yet, but hearing Kate explain to me what it was like to go outback, and all the sounds she heard on her visit I was transported there .... we then worked out how to make all these sounds in the studio ( Townhouse Studio 2) using blocks of wood and sampling them in to this new invention called a FAIRLIGHT ( she owns the 3rd in existence ) The high dreamy (keyboard) sound is actually a grand piano though 3 AMS harmonizes up an octave feeding back on eachother via 2 reverb plates, a trick I learned by plugging effects units in wrongly but thought it sounded cool !! Recording Didgeridoo was fun too . Such an amazing song, and sounded ridiculously good on the Huge speakers at Townhouse Studio 2 @katebushmusic @katebushnews
