“Windy” by Meriem Bennani (2022), co-commissioned by High Line Art (@highlineart) and Audemars Piguet Contemporary (@audemarspiguet), is on view at 24th St. on the High Line until May 2023. Taking the form of a spinning tornado, “Windy” evokes the frenetic energy of NYC and the High Line. Inspired by Bennani’s love of animation, the 9ft kinetic sculpture breaks the norms of traditional sculpture and is built to rotate at varying speeds throughout the year. Bennani is the latest artist to work with Audemars Piguet Contemporary—the programme established by Audemars Piguet that commissions contemporary artists to create works that explore a new direction in their practice. #HighLineArt #APxArt
