This Tonkatsu is the next best thing to being in Japan. 🙌🏻 One of my favorite Japanese foods is Tonkatsu with rice. It looks simple in nature, but similar to sushi, it’s a dish that requires the skill and mind of a master cook. @tonkatsu_tamafuji_usa has been doing it for over 69 years, and it clearly shows. They opened their first shop in Hokkaido’s Sapporo city in 1952 and lucky for me, expanded to Honolulu, HI. The reason why their pork is so tender is because they use the best quality Jyukusei pork and cold-age it for 18 days. Then they fry the tonkatsu in large copper pots to ensure that it fries up tender and juicy. The result is absolute deliciousness. If you’re in Honolulu, be sure to add this to your list!
