The concept of community fridges is easy, but keeping one open for two years isn't. The @easthollywoodfridge was one of the first in LA in 2020. It's still here because dozens of people in the neighborhood do what they can to keep it clean, stocked and safe. Plus we have fabulous hosts: Dario and Yadira of Santa Monica Grocery. This fridge has been a resource for hundreds of people and an outpost to divert set so much food from landfills. Today, we celebrated our 2-year anniversary as well as 12 months of providing our monthly Covid Pop-Up Clinic to the East Hollywood community! Our #EaHoVaxxTeam gave out free home rapid test, pastries, fruit, snacks, candy, waters, hydro and delicious @rickyspizza1 to our friends and guests. As always a huge thank you to @carepacksla for providing hygiene kits, and at home rapid antigen tests from @mutualaidla @power.la, Santa Monica Grocery Store for letting us bring this event to the East Hollywood community, and @986Pharmacy for providing all 3 vaccines and boosters for our neighbors.
