There are a lot of perspectives when it comes to the COP27 UN Climate Summit in Egypt.
·
Brian Pottle, president of the National Inuit Youth Council, and Megan Dicker Nochask, a climate advocate from Nain, are sharing theirs.
·
“The energy is invigorating, you know it’s infectious,” said Pottle.
·
“It reminds you that this is a priority for people the world over. Even if you don’t see it in your community, even if you don’t see it in your friend group, it’s there.”
·
Dicker Nochask said during panels and meetings she pushed for more Indigenous inclusion.
·
“It was a lot to think about, and so many people to meet, but also so many people to learn things from and to be inspired by.”
·
“When the land is unhealthy, so are the people, so it is a human rights issue. And if we care about our people. We care about our land, we’ll sit down and create something.” she said. “We have to be done just talking.”
