Olympic Pathway Team 🍁Équipe du parcours olympique Final Results: Surf Canada National Team Selections at Huntington Beach, for the ’22 @isasurfing World Surfing Games, Sept 17-25, the 1st stop in Olympic Qualification to #Paris2024
Top 3 tied in points and were separated for ISA seeding in the following order:
a) Heat Wins b) WSL highest ranked:
1. Cody Young - 11pts: 2 heat wins + 3rd
2. Sean Foerster - 11pts: 2 heat wins + 3rd
3. Levi Young - 11pts: 1 heat win + 2 x 2nd
4. Wheeler Hasburgh - 9pts: 3 x 2nd
5. Noah Cohen - 7pts: 1 heat win + 2 x 3rd
6. Reed Platenius - 5pts: 2nd + 2 x 3rd
HEAT FORMAT:
20-minute heats of 3 surfers, using ISA judging criteria: each surfs 3 heats total over 1 day, all heats count towards each surfer’s total. The 3 surfers with the highest totals are selected for the ’22 ISA WSG Canadian National Team.
Points Per Heat:
In accordance with the Point Score Table (1st = 5, 2nd = 3, 3rd = 1), total accumulation of points over 3 heats obtained at the National Team Trials will definitively identify the Top surfers for nomination to the National Team to compete at the ’22 ISA WSG.
JUDGING PANEL:
Surf Canada hired three qualified and experienced WSL judges for these Team Selection Trials. Huge thank you to @torygilkerson @timilliken @mitchtales
Surfers were determined as per ’22 Selection Protocol, Method A, Priority 1, and invited to compete for available Men’s ISA WSG Team quota spots.
