Following the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we are joining @UNWomen #16Days of Activism to End Violence against Women & Girls. On this occasion, we present regional initiatives led by our employees around the world to reduce gender discrimination and help women victim of violence. 📍 Accor South America: In 2020, Accor created the Embrace Program, an initiative to rescue, shelter and help women who were living in violent environments. All employees in the region are deeply engaged in the program. As the General Manager of the Mercure Manaus hotel, Rafael is one of them. By means of this program, until September 2022, Accor has sheltered 187 women and 227 children, offering more than 2300 room nights at the Accor hotels located in 210 municipalities, spread across 18 Brazilian states. Besides the women lodged at the Accor hotels, the Embrace Program has also assisted more than 200 other women with free social, legal, and psychological services with the assistance of ONG, Bem Querer Mulher. “We had to adapt our processes and operation to offer full board and laundry services to the women and their children, and create a special non-profitable room rate whose cost are borne by Accor. We performed several trainings to our team members and elaborated structured content for the employees and women who take part in the program.” #WorkWithPurpose #PushForward @mercuremanaus
