For six years, I have been sitting on this title “Dance of Black Woman,” but I always had trouble producing my concepts.. but one day, I sat with @omarihardwickofficial and talked damn near for an hour, and every time I told a story about the great moments in my life it was pushed by @tonywhlgn @uncwhlgn @domosdojo and more black men... so Omari goes to say it should be called “Dance of A Black Man” and the next week I flew my friends @jordanblake10 & @cagedelephvnt to Detroit to create this!! “I believe that art is a constantly evolving medium. As we move forward every day, someone finds a way to use their voice through artistic expression and create a story that can touch millions. “Dance Of A Black Man” is centered around capturing the global black man & woman relationship and its evolution through growth and expression. Dance of a Black Man is my tribute to the men in my life and their vulnerability, which is a strength that often goes unrecognized. This body of work portrays the black male as a angel, soft yet powerful, with wings that signify freedom and the ability to thrive. Combatting narratives of violence, “Dance of a Black Man” instead reveals deep and beautiful humanity that isn’t always shown.
