We have gained a guardian angel this week. Our Grandma embodied Galatians 5:22; ”But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.” The Holy Spirit was working through our Grandma’s life until the very end. She expressed very few words in the past year, but “I love you” was a phrase that she tried her hardest to say. She was filled with joy during endless card games and her love for game shows. Though she didn’t always know what was going on, we believe she was at peace and felt serenity. She was kind and would make us the most sugar-filled treats. She was a good person with an amazing sense of humor and the most contagious laugh. She knew God and is with Him in Heaven now. We are thankful for her and her expression of the Holy Spirit everyday. We will miss her loud cheers, impossible Easter egg hunts, delicious deserts, off-key singing, numerous life savers, daily facetimes, and repetitive card games. We also want to spread awareness for those experiencing memory loss, as it can be hard for others to truly understand what it’s like. One of piece of advice we’d like to give is to be patient, and to visit your loved one as often as possible. Even though they may not always remember, your presence can still offer comfort and connection. Time is precious. We were fortunate that she got to live close to us for us to visit her often. Watching a family member slowly lose their memory is probably one of the hardest things we’ve lived through. See you soon Grandma! Love you forever 💜🕊️
