6.6.2022, bridesmaids dresses 🕊 I felt so lucky to have my family, my friends who feel like family and my bestest buds by my side. I always knew I wanted them to wear low back dresses and when I couldn’t find the dress I had in mind anywhere, I knew I wanted to design and get them handmade. I had the design for years although was toying between the idea of pistachio and lemon but I’m so happy we went with the latter. It was also the colour of my flowers - yellow and green are my absolute favourites so it not only made sense to have the lemon flowers and dresses mixed in with the green foliage but it was also the colour of my Mum and Dad’s wedding. The amazing @eliza_may_atelier made every dress from scratch in the UK after we chose our favourite fabric. I chose a colour called ‘Primrose’ which was a 100% silk. I love the uniform look of everyone in the same design but as girls are different shapes and sizes, I still wanted everyone to feel amazing. I tried on an early sample that was pretty much it but I wanted a thicker material to fit the girls perfectly and make them feel really at ease. Eliza May then doubled up the fabric that created a thicker, fitted structure as I think slip dresses are sometimes hard to feel completely comfortable in. We had a girls fitting (that turned into a wild night out 🤣) where they were all tailored and they looked absolutely stunning. My sister, my maid of honour, had a skirt that went slightly out to a fuller skirt and she looked simply beautiful. As they were all backless, we were worried about the bra situation and everyones different sizes, so we looked up lots of clear strap and no strap bras etc. However, we found that for anyone who wanted a bra, the perfect solution was for Miriam from Eliza May to sew cups in to the dresses and everyone was really happy. Even up to the night before, Miriam worked tirelessly doing extra adjustments for any slight changes before the day. As the party went on to the secret bar in the night, the dresses were still perfect to dance the night away!
