Have you heard of intersectionality? Comment below!⤵️ Intersectionality is the idea that each person has their own set of unique social and political identities that combine to create different modes of privilege and discrimination. We must consider all intersections of oppression that affect people — race, class, gender, nationality, sexuality, physical ability etc. If we have an intersectional approach with our activism, it will help us be able to more accurately fight systems of oppression rather than maintain them. I’ve listed an example, and a few ways to be a more intersectional ally at the end of the slides, so please save and share so everyone can understand! . I posted this on Friday, but I found some typos and mistakes when I looked back over it, so this is the new and improved version! I really enjoy making posts like this and discussing with this community, and I never want to come off as preach-y or give y’all confusing information, which is why I wanted to re-do this post. I obviously can’t fit every piece of information into these posts, but I do try really hard to include information that is valuable and easy to understand for everyone. I definitely don’t know everything, but I think it’s important to share this stuff with y’all! I’m still learning too, but I will always do my best to be inclusive and make content that is accessible. 💖 Do you like these educational posts? What would y’all want to learn more about?
