Another big (or should I say MINI?) day in Milan at Salone del Mobile... Today marks a new chapter in my partnership with MINI. A true icon of British design, the Mini has long been one of my favourite cars and when the opportunity to redesign it for a changing world came around, well, how could I say no? Unveiled today, the Paul Smith + Mini Recharged is a re-imagined version of a 1998 Mini I designed nearly 15 years ago, this time refitted with a fully electric engine and a stripped back interior. It’s being exhibited here in Milan at my showroom alongside last year’s MINI STRIP. Both cars explore the possibilities of sustainable design and what it means for the future.
