I had one of the most life-giving trips last week adventuring across Guatemala with my brother @HiDiegoC. I kept saying “I feel like I’m in a movie” day after day as we had experiences, interactions, and conversations that felt cathartic and somewhat divine.
Some moments I’ll never forget.
Rock throwing with a 10-year-old Puerto Quetzal local, Melbin, using Google translator on my phone to communicate with him.
A boat ride in pitch-black darkness in the middle of a rain storm.
Giving a ride to 2 Guatemalan women and their children who were walking 2 hours through the mountains to decorate a church with flowers.
Stray dogs that greeted us off of our boat ride one morning instantly becoming our friends joining us during our exploration.
Riding a Tuk-Tuk through windy mountain roads that handled them better than our Toyota Rush.
Google maps directing us through a mudslide, a pack of ravenous street dogs, shanty towns, and the middle of crop fields.
Fresh Guatemalan coffee that put these LA roasterys to shame.
Farewell Dinner with the Contreras.
