HOW DID I GET HERE?? 🤷🏾‍♀️ I’m not even a week into homeownership and it already feels like one of the momentous decisions of my life and trust me I don’t take it lightly! This reel sums up about 6 months of endless text, calls, emails into about a 20 sec sneak peek but let me re affirm I wouldn’t recommend anyone undergo this process until they’re very ready! Here’s a few lessons i learned: 👉🏾 Find a realtor that you trust has your best intentions. @jordandunson_ literally looked out for me before i even knew what to look for. Anytime the sellers agent says your realtor is aggressive & definitive- i knew she was the one for me. We were also classmates 14 years ago at @scaddotedu (take that for alumni networking) 👉🏾 Find a mortgage lender who tells it like it is - Mortgage Wolfe told me exactly what I could afford & gave me all my #s so i was set up for success before I even toured my first house. 👉🏾 Use @zillow - look at different areas, neighborhoods, do the digital tours. I only visited 4 or 5 houses in total all 2022 because i was able to cancel out a ton via info available on Zillow 👉🏾Make a “must haves list” & a “nice to haves list” and stick to it... it’ll make your house hunt soooo much easier 👉🏾 Get your 💵 in order far before you need to use it. Some lenders will dig in your finances for at least the last 2-6 months. Not having all your business buttoned up will cost you an approval!
