Sprouting nuts by soaking them in water for 3-12 hours can boost their antioxidants, amino acids and B vitamins all while reducing the amount of antinutrients, which can otherwise impede digestion and inhibit the absorption of key nutrients. Meaning, you're left with an especially nutritious snack that's easier to digest and more bioavailable.
Follow along as @lilsipper walks you through the process of sprouting almonds or check out her explanation below!
How to Sprout Almonds:
+ Soak raw almonds in a jar with purified water for 12 hours (overnight) in the fridge.
+ The next day, rinse the nuts then remove the skins, which should easily "slip" right off. Do not drink or use the soaking water again; just pour it out.
+ Store in a new container in the fridge and enjoy.
+ If preferred, you can slowly dry them out by placing the almonds on a baking sheet and roasting/dehydrating them for a few hours at 100 degrees F.
