We went to bed last night with the kids wearing their pajamas inside out and woke up to the squeals of joy as the snow started pouring down at 7am. The kids had all their snow gear ready and it was all I could do to get them to brush their teeth before running out to play.
The kids made snowballs, and snow angels, and twirled as the snow poured down. Too excited to know what to do first. We made mini reindeer waffles and then walked to meet up with friends at one of the many sledding hills in our neighborhood.
We had hot cocoa while everyone went flying down the snowy hills. They didn’t care that it was cold and wet. It was magical to all of us. Watching the core memories formed and taking them in was so heartwarming.
Jordan made eggs, sausage, cinnamon rolls, and roasted potatoes for all our friends and we all came back to our house and defrosted! Then the kids went back out for more fun in the yard while the adults all cozied up to chat and sip on leftover NYE Prosecco.
The rest of the day was spent playing in pajamas, drinking too much Prosecco, and laughing in great company. It felt like we had been waiting for this day all week, and it delivered. This was one for the books - a southern snow day we’ll never forget! 🩵 #strollinginthesuburbs #snowday #dayinthelife
