make no mistake this isn’t a love poem Because I DON’T WRITE LOVE POEMS ANYMORE... but I did hear a story about this couple that was married for 67 years that’s 268 seasons 804 months and 24,458 days casual, right? when the husband was asked how he could be in love with the same woman for so long he laughed and said, “she hasn’t been the same woman at all.” maybe that’s what makes love last to dance on the ashes of who we once were instead of holding each other hostage to the person we knew I’ve always feared losing you or becoming lost in you no one tells you the bravest thing you can do is open up the gates of your rib cage and let someone leave their fingerprints on your heart knowing that whether It’s in a minute or a lifetime one day you will part but make no mistake this isn’t a love poem because I don’t write love poems anymore but if I did I’d tell you love may conquer all but it will also break you until you open to every kind of love there is the kind of love where I’ll give you my sweatshirt when you’re cold the kind of love where I’ll kiss every wrinkle when you’re old the kind of love where I keep you on your toes and drive you fucking crazy but at the end of day we’re still lucky to call each other baby I don’t write love poems anymore but if I did I would say one last thing just to make myself clear I don’t have the slightest clue what love is but I can tell you this It’s the reason that we all exist ________ Powerful poem by @alliemichellel, shared on our recent @knowthyself podcast interview.
