"Split" looking like he's ready for war!🦌🌿 Im excited to see if he will be another main contender in this years rut. I certainly believe he will be, one of the reasons i think this is because of how brave he is. He never seems to back down from a fellow rival. He's not the first one to run away. Which does make sense of how & why he got his injury a few years back. I always get asked how i recognise the stags between eachother. Theres a few things i take in consideration. After spending years around these guys you learn how they all look and how different they are to eachother. Im able to recognise them just by seeing their faces but seeing the shape of the antlers helps greatly too especially if they arent looking at me. "Split' has devolved an unusual tine that points downwards on his right antler so its much easier for me to recognise him! He's only developed this in the last few years before that i used his injury (The split nose) to identify him. That was the first time i truly encountered him and took notice of him. I guess if he never got that injury i wouldn't have taken any notice or shared his story. Kinda weird how things work out, but fascinating at the very least.
