60 lbs./27.25 kg. Reverse Nordic Press with Earthquake Bar - age 53, November 4, 2022, 5:58 pm 🌺CAUTION: THIS VIDEO IS FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS EXERCISE CAN BE DANGEROUS. I just got back from Sacramento today, and my back, quads, and especially my calves were tight. I fly cheap, so I was crammed at the back of the plane and didn’t want to spill over into the guy next to me, so my chest and shoulders were tight from sucking them in for five hours. It was a beautiful Hawaiian evening, with Hibiscus sunset and a cool breeze blowing. It was a perfect evening to combine several good things into one cure for everything that ailed me. When my calves are tight, stretching them always feels good, but what really gets them to RELAX is some tibialis (tibs) work. The tibs are the long muscles that span the outer edges of the shin bones. Their function is to lift the feet up and is opposite of the calves which is to push the feet down, as when operating the gas and brake pedals of your car. The Reverse Nordic is a great way to strengthen and lengthen the tibs, but I don’t recommend the exercise that I am demonstrating until you have a solid base of experience with this exercise first. When I got home today, this Earthquake bar was waiting for me, so it was a perfect opportunity for me to combine some shoulder and chest opening mobility while using the load to enhance the activation and stretching of the tibs, quads, hip flexors and core. The bar itself weighs about six pounds, and it just has a great feel to it. I often use it unloaded just for shoulder and back mobility. Putting a little weight on it results in a “light but heavy” feel, which is perfect on days like this. I care about every single person who watches my videos, and I don’t want anyone to get hurt, so please use your discretion with this and everything else you see on social media. Much aloha🌺
