The intersection of running and powerlifting is nothing short of amazing. I promised in another long form video that I'd start answering questions from the inbox and comment sections through visual storytelling. At the moment, I'm a few weeks away from my first June meet and about 5 weeks from another in Virginia - I'm excited. Some questioned how this works together. Frankly, I choose one to act as a primary during a particular season while the other discipline takes shotgun. My running, for now, is under 20 miles weekly, powerlifting 3-4 times a week and do mobility work between 10 to 30 minutes regularly. I'm working on depth this go round for my squats, which will help me meet qualifications for my meets. If you're hesitant about doing strength work, I encourage you to jump on it. Hire a coach, a mobility specialist, or do extensive research like me - it's been nothing short of amazing. Marathon training kicks off mid-June for me. For now, I'm coasting on these maintenance miles and heavy plates. If you have questions about this or want to pick my brain about another topic, drop it below. #plussizerunner #plussizeathlete #athletewithdisabilities #strengthtrainingforrunners #powerliftingwomen #plussizepowerlifter
