RIP Shock G. If it weren’t for Digital Underground playing my demo with Charizma on their tour bus back in 1991, their A&R Casual T would’ve never signed us to Hollywood Basics Records. (DU’s Money B and DJ Fuze had a side project Raw Fusion that went through Hollywood Basics as well.) Ironically, my first time on a tour bus was with Money B and DJ Fuze a year later for a quick tour of Germany back in 1992. We heard stories about their dancer Tupac and how they played big stadiums, etc etc and Charizma and I foresaw that in our near future as well. Thank you Shock G, Money B, and DJ Fuze for helping me get my foot in the door in this hip hop industry. Sadly, I never got to meet Shock G. I just always assumed it would happen one day naturally when it was meant to be. What a great talent we lost today.
