Who is Palmira Martinez? She is a woman who was told she could not, so she did. She is a woman who was told "you won't" but she said, "I will." 10 years ago, Palmira took up running and won her own marathon. It was a different kind of race, one that required immense perseverance and a strong belief in self, despite the wall of ignorant voices telling her she couldn't because she was different from them. Being someone who is blind did not stop her from running toward her goal. Palmira Martinez is a runner. She completed 8 marathons, and is now training for the Mexico City Marathon.
