This is part 2 of my 2 part post. Those who know me know I’m not emotional, but I’ve been so overwhelmed with emotions these past few days. I mean, I’m sitting here writing a novel on IG. Thank you to all of you who have helped me on this journey. When I think about how fortunate I’ve been and what the game has done for me, it’s unreal. I think of all of my friends and the people in my life that I met from ball and it’s just hard to grasp. This game has allowed me to travel all over the world for my job and for leisure. I can only smile when I think about the freedom basketball has allowed me....But for real y’all, I’ve been playing in the league for THIRTEEN years! And on top of that, the fact that I’ve been able to win championships at so many levels, while having fun, like what?!?!?! That’s one of my proudest accomplishments, having a ball while playing ball. Basketball has given me so much and I’m incredibly thankful for the game. My time on the court with Seattle has come to an end, but with endings come new beginnings. I will be staying with the Seattle Storm, but in a new role. I’ll be working with our social justice initiative, Force4change, as the Director of community engagement. It will be an incredible opportunity to make a positive impact. I’ll be able to continue to work with the Storm to fight racism and help create a more equitable society. 💚💚💚 Now let me go get my workday outfits ready.
