Horse Meat Disco - 9/4 - Labor Day Weekend 🐴🥩🪩 This one is for the kids who were too afraid to dance. I have found myself, and some of my best friends on the dance floor. I have always believed in the power and beauty of good people, dancing to good music. To say that I admire @severinodj @jim_hmd__ @jameshorsemeat @lukehmd1969 is an understatement. They are masters of their craft, and I am honored to play this legendary party. Every time I’d be at the knockdown center I’d whisper to my friends half joking half serious that I couldn’t wait to play there someday. It’s kind of a full circle moment. What started out with making a playlist years ago to keep all the disco music I heard, has manifested to this moment. I think dj’ing is the greatest form of storytelling. It’s a way to connect to your past, and remember where you and your people have been. People in the queer community have always turned to the clubs in times of crisis, and in celebration. From Studio 54, to The Saint, to The Paradise Garage, It is our birthright to get down and groove. I have the privilege of playing for 4 hours on 9/4. It’s a journey and story that I would love for you to be a part of. I’m drawing from moments I’ve shared with friends and from songs that make me feel something. I would love to see every age, race, body, gender etc on that dance floor, sharing a moment together. Times are scary. They have always been for us. Even though the world seems to be challenging our existence, we are at our strongest when we are unified. Our joy is an act of resistance.
