My Last game hooping’ at the @drewleague 7/9/17 Hometown Favorites VS MHP Going into the game vs MHP, I had a good feeling it would be my last one. Well, I had been saying that for a few summers by then. However, the last few years of my playing days, I had given up my spot on the roster so we could add better and younger players for the playoffs. I don’t think I ever mentioned this to @classicreg or @dwrightuno at the time, but low key, I was thinking about playing in the playoffs. Why Not? It was more than likely my last summer hoopin’ and I had worked my ass to get into pretty good shape for a 40 year old playing in my 20th season at the Drew. It was just a thought. I was going to be out of town the next 2 weekends with Peach Jam and Las Vegas so me playing after the game against MHP was a long shot. So, I approached this game as if it really was the last time I would lace them up at the Drew League. Not to mention, we really needed the win to stay in the playoff race. Good luck with that. MHP was suiting up @swaggyp1 and @demar_derozan and we didn’t have any of our NBA guys that weekend. @deanthonymelton was on our team and played in the game, but he was only going into his sophomore year at @uschoops . It was a heck of a game! Everyone was expecting us to lay down and get blown out. Nope. We showed a tremendous amount of toughness and heart and beat MHP to keep our playoff hopes alive. The game did have some controversial moments, though. Let @bigmeat2000 tell it, the refs cheated. Lol If this was going to be my last game, what a way to end a playing career! Four days later, in Augusta, GA, at the Nike Peach Jam my life would change forever. It was the start of a month long health situation that ultimately ended my playing career. I still can't believe we ended up making it to the Championship game with 4 current NBA players and lost to a team that didn’t have any @nba players🤦🏾‍♂️ Kicks: Nike Kobe 8 System Christmas #nobodylikecy
