A few days on now since Lavaredo and still processing the disappointment of dropping from the race after only 25km. My nightmare situation which was a repeat in the sensations I felt at Zegama the month before, my race starting out well but then fading to the point where I need to walk, my body not recovering from any effort. So many things go though your mind as you analyze every aspect of the race and what it could be but knowing this isn’t normal. Still you can help but feel the frustration, anger, sadness and the doubt that takes you over. When you are passionate about something the failures hit you hard and that is ok because life is about emotions. They say every action has a reaction, every low has a high so as per usual we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and try again. It’s all part of the journey and nobody said it would be easy.
