The epic flapper 🎥 on what I’m calling the Bear Claw project. This guy meant a lot to me and I was bummed to only begin messing with it a couple days before our departure. 2nd day, on my 2nd try I got extremely close but fell just short of the lip. Next go, the worst flapper of my life which abruptly ended my trip. It’s magical honestly to find such incredible lines tucked deep in the back country. This guy stands out as one of those jaw dropper problems where all the stars just seemed to line up. Among a seemingly endless amount of stone, there were many of these types of problems, and of all ranges of difficulty. The winds are a rugged mountain range. Many people often ask me why the hell we put so much effort into places like this. Why don’t we just stick to areas closer to the road, stick to already known and accessible projects? For me it’s about more than just the climbing itself. It’s about the experience. It’s about testing yourself and pushing yourself both mentally and physically. It’s about being somewhere, or discovering a place that few have been and likely few will ever be. This world is a vast and incredible place. I urge you to get out there and explore it.
