I was a cop for 5 years. 3 years outside Baltimore and 2 outside DC. Some of you know me as “blueline_shinobi” (420k followers) on TikTok before I left the police department and switched my username to “slice_of_dopamine”. . . My wife and I ended up moving and none of my time transferred to the new state, so I would have to start from scratch. Police work has gone so downhill over the last couple of years it was hard to justify staying. I tried getting a second 4 years degree but I hate school and in a massive amount of debt from the first degree. . . I wanted to purse content creation more, but my police niche did not transfer well to my new found love of golf. So even though I had the followers, I didn’t have the interactions or growth. . . Thanks to watching channels like @bobdoessports and @goodgood , I felt like golf media could be a real job and following your passion is a much better way to live than chasing a paycheck. Except, I took a different route. After a series of good fortune, I landed the content media manager position @pcc1854 . . In the off chance any of you guys read this, I just wanted to say thank you for even making me think, something like this was an option! . . So I went from fighting people on pcp to flying a drone around the first country club in the country. . . I also changed my second IG account @slice_of_dopamine_media to highlight my photo/video work. . . Along with this, I love to post more on my own social media accounts, and just have fun with it. So that’s how I left law enforcement to play more golf.
