OH NOOOO BOX DYE 🫠 Part 2 with results and the 411 ⬇️ Our guest let us know that she had box dyed her hair 😩 before she came in. Since @asil and I wanted to collaborate we told her to come in and we’d do a test strand to see what our options were. She wanted blonde 👱🏼‍♀️ but we explained that it all depended on the test strand. She agreed. Sooooo we did the test strand in the back and it actually lifted beautifully. We were stoked! As you see in the video 👀 we were excited and jumped in taking 1/8 inch sub sections and insulated with heavy saturation. Once the mids and ends were at about a level 8 we began saturating the base to get an even canvas. Everything seemed to be going great.... Until we pulled the foil in the front section of her hair. Splotchy, banded and the base wouldn’t move 🤬☹️ We were obviously shook and caught our live reaction on camera 😂🤦🏻‍♂️ The lesson here is ESPECIALLY WITH BOX DYE ALL BETS ARE OFF. I will ALWAYS test strand multiple areas as box dye is unpredictable. Luckily we were clear in our consultation and our guest was open minded. Her hair was in great condition and we were able to reapply our lightener with 20 volume and after praying 🙏🏼 to the Hair Gods get the canvas pretty even 😂 but def not light enough for blonde! So we chose to do a hot pink shadow root and melt it into coppers and strawberry blonde 💁🏻‍♂️ She got blonde... but red blonde lol She loved the results and we hope you do too!
