As a whole has stemmed from my interrogation of structures of violence that exist in our contemporary society and where diversions / interrelations can be drawn to poignant historical events which have directly effected me or my ancestors. When considering the expansion of capitalism and colonial ventures in Africa and the Caribbean I’m confronted with the existence of individuals who actively chose, or passively followed, grotesque rampages across the globe in search of material wealth. Wealth that is still in the hands of their descendants to this day, wealth that continues to shape the world and destroy lives.
