18 years ago we were 18 in les Gets 2004 juniors world champ. That year was the start of an endless friendship between Stef and me. Not having him racing with us this sunday is a bit of a shock. Diving into the unknown and looking for a new room mate 😆. Let's go back in the days. We started far back (already) and catched almost everyone. But Nino was already @nschurter , in front of us having enough time for a Solero in the last lap. When I look back to myself, this dude was way to far to imagine that he will race bikes for the next 18 years (at least). I had ups and downs but not really regrets. For sure I could do better but we don't live in the past, I try to always look forward. I don't even watch any of my races on replay (too boring I know what's happening)! I remember well this week in 2004. Full of crowd, great atmosphere and for the frenchs some memorable moments like the first elite title of @julien_absalon . Also the backflip of @cedricgracia in front of me in the 4x was a one to remember. It was a great week for the french team. It's never easy to race on home soil the biggest one of the year. It's extra motivation for sure with a bit more attention on your shoulders. But 18 years ago we did well. So what to say to my colleagues? Find the right balance but enjoy as much as you can it happened only 2 times to race for rainbows in France (Metabief 93, les gets 2004). Feeling grateful to race another one at home. Even Julien didn't had this chance! So we gotta send it hard. Will be some happy frenchs and some little less happy... but you can't be disappointed to race at home in front of your loved ones.
