Paola Igliori (@paolaigliori) prefers looking at the bright side in her colorful top-floor bedroom located in Italy’s hilly Tuscia region north of Rome. While it feels very modern, this whimsical space, designed by her son Filippo Chia (@filippocastelloromitorio), is motivated by a desire to rekindle long-lost worlds through a nod to the genre in Italian Renaissance and Baroque architecture known as “capriccio,” or a “folly” in English. The idea behind it is that interiors of this kind were inspired by a need for creative expression over practicality. The result is a room that is as timeless as it is experimental. Bravo!
