I’ve always been fascinated by the circus; how it’s joyous front always feels laced with something sinister. Paul Gallico’s “Love of Seven Dolls” (1954) is a wonderful literary example. @spiegelworld dips into this a bit, but makes it, well, very Las Vegas: Sexy! fun! dark! camp! Absolute ridiculousness on all fronts. Seeing the shows (ABSINTHE, OPIUM, ATOMIC SALOON) and exploring the “universe” felt like stepping into a Dali painting. Nothing really made sense, nothing too polished or too calculated. Mismatch visions of pure chaos that put a Cheshire Cat grin on my face that never waned. Thank you to the wonderful folks at @spiegelworld for having me this weekend. (I loved how the floor looked after the shows.. which were PACKED)
