This is my beautiful 44 year-young patient and mom of 5 who recently underwent a “mommy makeover.” She had a right breast lift and left breast reduction to improve her preoperative breast asymmetry. She also had a tummy tuck with 360 (circumferential) liposuction to give back her pre-baby shape. While many people will refer to these procedures as “cosmetic” I would argue that they are reconstructive or restorative. Having children is beautiful but can often take a toll on a woman’s body. Unfortunately, there isn’t a non-surgical option to fix a large muscle separation (diastasis) in the abdomen or to tighten up a significant amount of loose skin. Surgery is often the only option to repair the muscles and remove loose skin. Same goes for droopy breasts.
