I really hate writing this... Yesterday my family and i buried my stepmom after losing her to a short yet brutal fight with cancer. The loss has been nothing short of devastating for our family and all who knew her. Debbie was a mom, a wife, an aunt, a sister, a friend, a grandmother, and a badass. This loss has left an enormous hole in our lives beyond imagination. She was kind and funny, and always had a way of calming the situation down and making everyone feel safe and loved no matter what. fuhk i really hate writing this. Thank you to everyone that came out to the services yesterday. For those of you who know, this has been an excruciating time for us and the outpouring of love and adulation for Debbie has been incredible and truly overwhelming. Deb would have laughed, and loved every second of it.... i just can’t believe she’s gone. i love you GiGi. forever.🖤 #FuckCancer Edit: So in 2019 i wrote and released a song called “Ode to Destruction”. the song is a lot about my relationships with my stepmom and biological mom... anyway the reason i bring that up is because i quoted Debbie’s famous toast on that song, and it just feels like a better way to end this memorial. “So Here’s to those that wish us well, the rest can go to hell.” damn right, Deb. 🍸🍋
